Cork County Council (Irish: Comhairle Contae Chorcaí) is the local authority which is responsible for County Cork in Ireland. The Council is responsible for Housing and Community, Roads and Transportation, Urban planning and Development, Amenity and Culture, and Environment. The head of the council has the title of Cathaoirleach or "Chairperson". The county seat is at Cork County Hall, Cork.
The county council is governed by the Local Government Act 2001. The county is divided into ten local electoral areas and has 48 councillors who are elected every five years by single transferable vote. The county administration is headed by a county manager, currently Martin Riordan.

For the purpose of elections Cork is divided into ten local electoral areas: Bandon (3), Bantry (5), Blarney (4), Carrigaline (6), Fermoy (4), Kanturk (4), Macroom (4), Mallow (5) Midleton (6), and Skibbereen (7).[1]
